Rosemary lemonade
It’s the fresh rosemary that gives the rosemary lemonade such a unique lovely flavour.
A great summer drink and you can either:
- Make it with sparkling water
- Or even use it for a cocktail.
Rosemary is very easy to grow at home, and in addition to the lemonade recipe below it’s a key ingredients for many recipes. Especially meat ones like roast beef, lamb, etc.
How to make Rosemary Lemonade
Ingredients:
- 3 Sprigs rosemary
- 4 Lemons
- 4 tbsp Runny honey
- 500 ml Sparking Water
- 6 Ice cubes
Equipment
- Large saucepan
- Citrus juicer
Instructions
- Squeeze the juice from 3 of the lemons (About 9 tbsp or just over 120 ml)
- Pour the juice into a saucepan and add the honey
- Also add 2 of the rosemary sprigs
- Bring to the boil and boil for 2 minutes
- Let cool for 30 minutes and then remove the rosemary sprigs
- Put in a sealed container or jar and leave in a fridge for about 1 hour
- Pour 30 ml into a glass, add ice cubes, sliced lemon and sparkling water
- Not essential but you can also add a rosemary sprig to make it look nice.
How to use the lemonade
The lemonade can simply be poured in a glass and drunk.
Alternatively you can use the lemonade syrup when removed from the fridge (before water is added) as part of a cocktail. For example blended with gin and tonic.
2 items that make a difference
1. Fresh rosemary
Fresh rosemary adds real flavour to many recipes, like the lemon and rosemary lemonade recipe.
However…
Even ‘fresh’ rosemary from supermarkets doesn’t taste as good as homegrown rosemary.
Where you simply cut the sprigs you need from the plant.

2. A drinks dispenser
When blending (& serving) the lemonade I’ve found a drinks dispenser with a tap very useful.
Drinks dispensers come in different sizes and shapes.
For example the one on the right is 3.5 Litres and contains a steel tap which makes serving drinks very easy.
