Outdoor hydroponic gardening system
Key Facts
The easy to install outdoor hydroponic gardening system is the
- Ideal way to grow larger number of plants.
- Especially if they require ‘colder’ temperatures or are aromatic (like garlic)
- Very easy to start & manage
- Will help you get fast results with great yields.
.
Ideal for larger plants…
The outdoor hydroponic gardening system is similar to the indoor hydroponic system with lights but larger – to cope with plants like garlic, blue pea seeds, etc.
The outdoor hydroponic gardening contains 3 elements:
(Described in more details lower down the page)
Automated Hydroponics System
Standing Grow Light
Freestanding Tomato support
Taking the key elements in turn:
Element 1 – The hydroponic system
The outdoor hydroponic gardening system is great for because:
- Plants will grow faster with better yields. (Compared to those grown in soil).
- It is significantly easier to control key items like nutrients & ph levels.
- And of course it’s easier to water them.
There are a variety of different type & size units on our site – but we especially like the one on the right because it’s very easy to operate.
The one on the right has 8 pots, but they are available in larger sizes depending on your needs, and how much space you have available.
Please note – if growing items like garlic then you will need to make sure you grow them in a medium like rockwool, to help them get best results. Have a look at our garlic section for more info.
Element 2 – A grow light
The outdoor hydroponic gardening unit will work in the longer sunshine hours (spring & summer). But at other times your plants will require enough light to help them grow as fast as possible.
The advantage of using a specialised grow light (like the one on the right) is you will be able to provide exactly the right type of light.
We like the one on the right because the adjustable heads mean you can specifically direct the light where it’s needed.
In addition it can be programmed to set the number of hours it’s on – to help you get the best grow conditions.
However – very important that you place it where it doesn’t get wet. (If need be you can always add a grow tent if required)
.
Element 3 – Support
The final element is to provide support for your plants as they grow.
This can sometimes be a challenge indoors or on a balcony – as opposed to outside where you can often simply use a bamboo rod in the ground.
But on a solid floor – especially when using hydroponics or aquaponics – that is not as easy.
In addition it helps to use a support system that you can grow, as the plants get bigger and need some support.
The only one we’ve found that seems to fit the bill, is the one on the right.
