Notes
Note 1 – Fresh or Tinned tomatoesThe recipe uses tinned tomatoes, but it can also be made using fresh tomatoes. Simply wash and quarter the tomatoes and use them the same way as the tinned ones. Then use a food processor or food mill to get the sauce smooth. Due to the stronger flavour tomato paste might not be needed.Note 2 – Type of basil usedThe recipe also uses Minette Basil because it has a stronger basil flavour. The alternative is to use Genovese Basil which has a slightly less strong flavour and is available in most shops. Please note calories in only an estimate for sauce per person and doesn't include pasta, meatballs, etc.
